London Mets Logo 3The Kent Crusaders men beat the London Mets on Saturday night, 71-67. In what can only be described as a very good basketball game the Crusaders drew the longest straw at the end.

The game featured leveral lead changes in the first half before the Mets, in less than two minutes, scored the first seven points of the second half to go ahead by 14, 47-33. From that point onwards the Crusaders defence really kicked in, holding the Mets to 20 points for the rest of the game.

Slowly the home team reined in the lead until the Crusaders finally took the lead with three minutes played in the fourth quarter, 57-56. The Mets briefly regained the lead a minute later, 61-59, but the Crusaders scored the next seven straight. Despite a scare when the Mets got within 3 in the last minute the Crusaders managed to hold on as Rafal Sojczynski sank a free throw with three seconds to go to seal the win, 71-67.
