The Kent Crusaders must try to follow up on their first two wins in the Patrons Cup as Northampton Neptunes come to Canterbury on Saturday 11 October and the Crusaders then travel to Colchester Hornets on Sunday October 12.

Northampton forfeited their first game of the Patrons Cup before losing their second game to Plymouth Marjon Cannons who the Crusaders beat soundly in the first game of the cup.

Northampton have a lot of talent”, says Crusaders head coach Mads Olesen of the fixture, “but sometimes it takes them a little while to get up to speed. And let’s not forget how they beat us soundly in all three games last year. I’m expecting a very competitive game on Saturday, no matter what results they have produced this year so far”.

Last weekend the Neptunes were led by the experienced big man Renoso who had 47 points in their 99-87 defeat to Cannons.

Colchester are new to Division 2 after winning Division 3 South in front of London Mets last season. They are currently leading the Patrons Cup Pool 1 over Crusaders on points scored difference. After a forfeit win over Northampton in the first game of the Patrons Cup they beat Plymouth Raiders 2 away in the second game as they withstood a Plymouth comeback to hold on to a 68-65 win.

Colchester are big and experienced”, says coach Olesen of the newcomers, “It’s going to be another tough game, and we’ll have to play our very best to have a chance to come away with a win”.
