Captain Pete Aylings’s comments from game program from canceled game v. Southampton:
Another weekend, another double header and another two Crusaders wins!
It has been tough playing so many games this early in the season, the team is finding its feet and there are a couple of players still overcoming injuries. Despite the challenges we put together another two professional performances.
Saturday was a tough match up against Northampton, a team we’d never beaten, and one that tormented us all of last season. They were typically physical and liked to chat on the court! We showed consistency and enthusiasm….maybe a little too much enthusiasm at times but thats just a measure of how hard we’ve worked and how determined we are to win every game this season.
On Sunday we played without Robbie on a court made for hobbits. Despite this we put on another show for our dedicated supporters and blew out a decent team. On the downside Steve Findley dislocated his finger but doctors say he should still be able to pass and shoot properly when its
healed, which is a real plus as he couldn’t before the injury.
Once again your support is really important to us and the more noise we hear the easier it is get off the floor after diving for a loose ball, or accidentally running into Soren off a ball screen.
