“We lost Simon Mitchell and Robbie Parker to fouls and injury early in the game”, said Crusaders coach Mads Olesen, “We were just not able to break down the Met’s defence without them”.

The Kent Crusaders Under 14 National League team had a very tough game against the league leaders Newham Youngbloods on Saturday 15th November. Having come off the back of two league victories, the pressure was on the team to put on a good showing and they did just that.

An awful first half sealed the Kent Crusaders’ fate in the National Cup. In a very physical game the Division 3 Brixton Topcats forced a weak Crusaders side into making lots of mistakes as they led by 26 at halftime and by as much as 37 points in the third quarter.

The Kent Crusaders Under 16’s team came very close to taking the first round of the Sureshot cup in a thrilling game against Sevenoaks Suns but ran out of steam in the third quarter and, despite a late rally, lost by 75-68.

The Kent Crusaders are looking to rebound from two straight Division 2 defeats as they take on Division 3 Brixton Topcats in the National Cup looking for a quarter final berth.

It was an eventful weekend in Division 2 with several big surprises. The Kent Crusaders men almost pulled off the come-from-behind victory at Division 2 favourites Leeds Carnegie. Down 10 with a minute to go the Crusaders set out to do an improbable come-back as they cut the lead to four with 25 seconds left, but the Kent side got hit by a couple of intentional foul calls that sealed the victory for the hosts. At the same time favourites Northumbria lost to Birmingham A’s and on Sunday the surprise of the year so far was winless Colchester beating Leeds.

The Kent Crusaders Under 14’s team had two very impressive wins against Sevenoaks Suns and Camden Jaz. The team was under a certain amount of pressure to perform well after their first national league performance was well below their usual standard of play.
