Photography & Video Consent

At Kent Crusaders Basketball Club, we want to celebrate the achievements and enjoyment of our players while keeping everyone safe and respected. This policy explains what it means when you give us photo or video consent and how we manage those images.

What Does Giving Photo Consent Mean?

When you give us photo/video consent, it means you are allowing the club to:

  • Take photographs and/or video recordings of your child during games, training sessions, events, and club activities.

  • Use those images for:

    • Club promotion (e.g. website, social media, posters, newsletters).

    • Coaching and performance analysis.

    • Reporting achievements or results.

    • Club fundraising or community engagement purposes.

Consent is given when you complete our membership or registration form and tick the relevant box. You can change your mind at any time by contacting us in writing.

How We Use & Protect Images

  • We use images respectfully and appropriately, avoiding anything that could embarrass or endanger players.

  • We never publish full names with images of young people without additional, specific permission.

  • We never take photos or video in changing rooms and will only use images of players in suitable basketball clothing.

  • Images taken will convey the best principles and aspects of basketball,  reflecting the positive aspects of children’s involvement in basketball (enjoyment/competition etc).

  • All images and videos are stored securely and only shared through official club channels.

  • We do not allow third parties to use images without permission.

Photography at Games & Events

  • Spectators may take photos but we ask that you refrain from publishing photos that include other children on social media.

  • Flash photography is discouraged due to safety and distraction risks.

  • At certain events, we may have an official club photographer—these individuals will also follow this policy.

Withdrawing Consent

You can withdraw photo/video consent at any time by contacting the club via email. We will then stop using new images and remove any unshared ones where possible.
