Crusaders Community Basketball CIC (Trading as Kent Crusaders) – Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Kent Crusaders (“the Club”). By registering as a member, participating in activities, or attending events organised by the Club, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully.
1. Membership
1.1 Eligibility: Membership is open to individuals who meet the Club’s requirements, including age and fitness suitability.
1.2 Registration: All members must complete the official registration process and agree to comply with the Club’s policies.
1.3 Fees: Membership and training fees must be paid in accordance with the Club’s published fee structure. Non-payment may result in suspension of membership.
2. Code of Ethics and Conduct
2.1 All members, coaches, parents, and spectators must demonstrate respect, fairness, and integrity at all times.
2.2 Abusive language, violence, discrimination, bullying, or any form of harassment will not be tolerated.
2.3 Players must follow the guidance of coaches and officials and behave in a manner that upholds the reputation of the Club.
2.4 All participants must wear suitable sportswear and appropriate footwear during sessions.
2.5 These standards apply to everyone involved in basketball at every level under the jurisdiction of Basketball England, including players, match officials, coaches, administrators, club officials, and spectators. All individuals have a responsibility to act according to the highest standards of integrity and to ensure that the reputation of basketball is beyond reproach.
3. Safeguarding and Welfare
3.1 The Club is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and adults at risk in basketball.
3.2 The Club has worked closely with the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU), NSPCC, and the Ann Craft Trust to develop robust policies and procedures to safeguard children and adults at risk, achieving the NSPCC & CPSU's National Advanced Standards for safeguarding and protecting children in sport.
3.3 All coaches and volunteers working with children and adults at risk will undergo appropriate background checks, including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
3.4 Any allegation, suspicion of harm, or concern will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly, fairly, and appropriately.
4. Health and Safety
4.1 Members must disclose relevant medical conditions on the registration form and update the Club of any changes.
4.2 Participation in any Club activity is at the individual’s own risk.
4.3 The Club follows UK safeguarding policies and risk assessments. Safety guidelines must be adhered to at all times.
5. Insurance and Liability
5.1 The Club holds public liability insurance as required by UK law.
5.2 Members are advised to take out personal accident and injury insurance.
5.3 The Club accepts no responsibility for personal belongings lost or damaged at Club events or venues.
6. Photography and Media Consent
6.1 The Club may use photographs or videos from matches or training for promotion on its website, social media, or printed materials.
6.2 Consent is requested during registration. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting the Club in writing.
7. Termination of Membership
7.1 The Club reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership for breaches of these terms, misconduct, or behaviour deemed detrimental to the Club.
7.2 Members may resign by providing written notice. Refunds (if any) are subject to the Club’s refund policy.
8. Data Protection
8.1 The Club complies with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.
8.2 Personal data will only be collected, used, and stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Amendments
9.1 The Club reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Members will be notified of any significant changes.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
